The Maserati Quattroporte comes in two basic configurations, S and GTS. The Quattroporte S is powered by a 3.0L V6 engine with twin turbochargers producing 404 hp. Power is sent to either the rear wheels or in the Q4 variant, to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic, the only transmission available. With all-wheel drive, the V6 Quattroporte should be capable of 0-60 mph in less than 5 seconds. The GTS is rear-wheel drive only and is powered by a 3.6L V8, also twin turbocharged. This engine is good for a staggering 523 hp, enough straight line thrust to compete in the supercar category. Of course the Quattroporte is about more than just speed. Maserati makes serious luxury cars. The Quattroporte competes with entries from Mercedes and Audi as well. Maserati has responded by offering a ton of extra room when compared to last year's car, with the back seat getting the lion's share of attention. Interior appointments are lavish and noise levels, despite the punchy engines, the interior remains fairly subdued in normal driving. The Maserati Quattroporte comes with plenty of standard features such as 19-inch, wheels and a full leather interior; however the options really set it apart. For instance, interior leather can be ordered in one of several different colors, while wheels can be had in 20 or 21 inch sizes as well. The option list seems to go on forever covering everything from shift paddles to a glass moonroof, to individual climate controlled rear seats, to a nearly 1300-watt sound system. The Quattroporte is all about customization providing a strong incentive for potential customers to buy new, rather than used. Everything can be designed to customers' specifications for a price.
